R+T 2027: how to design a booth for moving products
R+T is held every three years. Miss it, and the next chance is 2030 — a long gap in a sector where motor systems and controls move quickly.
The next edition takes place in Stuttgart from 15 to 19 February 2027.
The last edition (2024) in figures: over 61,000 visitors and 1,017 exhibitors, among them manufacturers of blinds and shading systems, window and door specialists, makers of doors and industrial gates, planners and architects, largely from outside Germany.
An audience that wants to see the product working
This is what sets R+T apart from almost every other technical trade fair. Awnings, roller shutters, pergolas, sectional doors and motorised systems are objects that open and close: visitors are not satisfied with seeing them still, they want to see them work.
Three direct consequences for stand design:
- Real heights and real loads. An awning has to be shown at its actual extension, and doors and shading systems carry significant weight. Display structures have to be sized around these figures, not adapted afterwards.
- Services built for continuous operation. Motors and power supply have to withstand opening and closing cycles repeated across five days of the fair.
- Time for questions. You are talking to engineers and planners who go into detail: you need meeting areas sheltered from the passing flow.
The Resstende case

Effetre has already worked at R+T: at the 2024 edition it built the Resstende stand, for a company specialising in solar shading systems, to a design by the architect Ivo Pellegri.
The contribution was above all a technical one: making it possible to display working products within the space drawn by the architect, resolving at the engineering stage the structural and services constraints that a build of this kind involves.
How to take part in R+T 2027
The starting point is not the floor area, but the list of products to be shown in operation: they are what determines the heights required, the electrical connections and the sizing of the structures, and only then does it become clear how much space you actually need, and of what kind.
From there you move on to the concept, to engineering the project and to checking it against the fair's regulations, which set approval times for heights and suspended structures that need to be factored in. Then come transport logistics and the installation schedule, to be coordinated with the fair's service providers.
Planning to exhibit at R+T 2027?
Exhibiting products that move calls for a stand built to support them: this is the kind of problem Effetre solves at the engineering stage, turning the design from the architect or the technical department into a structure that holds up through five days of continuous demonstrations.
